Cristell Cavero, is a proud Peruvian social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. With over 10 years of experience, she has provided case management and mental health support to children, adults, and families—particularly those impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse, homelessness, and immigration-related trauma.

Cristell currently serves as a clinician and counselor at an ORR shelter, offering trauma-informed care to unaccompanied immigrant youth. Her work centers on advocacy for the Central and South American immigrant community and promoting culturally responsive services for Hispanic populations across the U.S.

Why I do this work:

I believe in the power of showing up—especially for those who have been silenced or left behind. My work is a form of resistance, rooted in justice and compassion.
